Hey Quetico friends,
My best friend and I will be entering at Beaverhouse June 9th for a 9 day trip. We are going to head in the direction of Sturgeon Lake. No exact route yet but hitting the main travel area through Q Lake and Jean. We may loop up through Walter and Jesse might just go in and out who knows. The purpose of this post is to connect with anyone that has been in the area and knows of some must see things or cool areas to visit. We are experienced in the Q, over 20 trips between the Q and BWCA. We travel light and our main focus is fishing but we do like to visit falls, double top secret jars in the woods, pictos, etc.
Any tips, must see locations, fishing hot spots ;), just general info that you would like to share would be greatly appreciated. We have never entered in this area usually Cache bay or PP, so if you want to exchange some info I could possibly help you out with something in a different part of the park.

Oooooohhhhh. Sounds like time for an epic fishing trip. Head to Jean and then down the Maligne to Poobah for 3 nights. Then return the same way. Trust me...it will all look different coming back than when you went thru the first time. The only "issue" could be paddling up the Maligne in mid-June in a high water year. Son and I made it back up in an Old Towne Camper in high water in mid-June, so I'm sure you'd make it as well. An epic 10-day trip from over 10 years ago, but still seems like yesterday....

Thanks I do know about these and I think I have done enough research to know where they are with coordiantes. We are defenitly going to take some time to get up there, might have to do some trolling along the way. I appreciate the tip though.

Hey Stik... how was your trip? What route did you end up taking? Fishing good?

Thanks for asking. The trip was great! Fishing was good. I tweaked my knee so we didn't do a big loop we made it to Jean and Burntside then just headed back where we came from. Only 1/2 day of bad wind on Quetico otherwise good weather.
