Here is a detailed looky-see of the AMOK Draumr 3.0 camping hammock......https://youtu.be/65a6s9OHHU4
This would be a great hammock for canoe trips as it takes less tree spacing. A bit on the heavy side but the recline feature is so mighty fine!
All I can say is that this hammock is truly something different. Lay on your stomach and side comfortably...http://www.amokequipment.com/#hammock...
Use a pad (specific type) instead of an underquilt......http://www.amokequipment.com/sleeping...
Sit in Recline Mode. No shoulder squeeze what so-ever.
It is a bit on the heavy side being so feature laden but it is bomb-proof......Hammock weight:
1340 g / 47 oz (without tarp)
2056 g / 72 oz (including tarp/stakes)
They make a tarp to fit this hammock specifically...it is needed. Comes with guylines and stakes. Seam sealed too.....http://www.amokequipment.com/unitedst...
It is a short hammock and 6 feet is about the max height of a person to be comfortable. Weight up to 330 pounds.
All secure in sector seven,
Shug

Hi Shug - thanks for the video!
A couple of questions:
1) How easy is it to tumble out head first? It looks quite unstable that direction
2) How much side protection do you get from the tarp? It looks like a wet time in a sideways storm.
3) If you pitch it on a deep sag (>30°) does it stabilize?

1.....You would have to really try to tumble out. But like any hammock you need to get familiar with your tipping pont.
2....I just had an overnight in a rain storm and was high and dry. One could add a rain jacket to a side or use Grizz beaks for more protection... Grizz Beaks
3....30% is the optimal angle but it is a very stable hammock based on my time in it.
Hope that all helps.

quote OBX2Kayak: "Thanks, Shug, for the review. It's a little on the heavy side for me."
I thought the same until I tried it. Kinda won me over. But I get the weight issue for most people. Jonas is working on a longer and more lightweight version. He is a mechanical engineer by trade and wanted to design HIS dream hammock. so true...not for all.
Thankee for watching though.

If the tarp is an issue being too small?? Couldnt a guy just use a bigger one? Ive seen other questions about how small the tarp is on other forums. Was waiting for you to put a video up on it....Thanks for all the info. Cant wait to get one.

I saw this last year on the hammock forums but I wanted to say this is by far the best review. I love my good old dream hammock but its always cool to see something new. Shug you are the best! Your videos have made the few times a year I get out a lot more enjoyable and I would like to thank you for all your hard work and shared knowledge.

I can't wait to get this hammock between some trees up in the BWCA. More than likely Sioux Hustler Trail.

Awesome videos with an extremely interesting product. I could see me getting one in the future as the versions get perfected. Not too keen on the price of it all but if I was going canoe camping a lot - say I win the lotto or sumpthin' - I would get this for sure.
It might be interesting to see if Jonas can design a 2 person version. I love the flatness and openness of it all. Good job Shug.

I can't wait to get this hammock up to the BWCA. It is really no more expensive or heavy than a Clark hammocks...which are feature laden.
The recline chair mode will be so nice for the evening sundown show!
