bubble pad ok. i have been on numerous overnights with my hh.
i remember one night on wood lake it got down below freezing, i had a blue pad under my shoulders and down below my knees, and a warm bag, and stayed warm.
i am looking new insulation for the bottom entry model i have.
i see on hh website they have the bubble, windshield type bottom pads.
they look nice, wide, and would seem to do the trick.
i do not plan on replacing the hh, due to the few nights i use it.
anyone have any nights spent with these bottom pads from hh?

quote Craig K: "Let us know how you like the side entry vs the bottom entry.
I have both and prefer the bottom entry. I still use a pad in it but only a short (half sized pad) which helps to not get in the way with the bottom entry."
I'm amazed. I have both as well and see the side entry as a huge improvement. What is it about bottom entry that you prefer.

I really like not having to deal with the zipper. When I get in I just sit down and lay back. Getting out, just separate the velcro with my toes and stand up. - very quick and easy.
I also seem to have way less bugs/mosquitoes in the bottom entry versus the zippered one.
Other then that I guess it's just personal preference, maybe I like to be different.
Anyways, enjoy your hang time!

my hh is in the mail to get a zipper on the left side and have the slit in the bottom sewed shut. i am really looking forward to the new modification.
after much thought, i have decided against an underquilt. i just will not hang in to many nights in cold weather.
i plan on getting the hh double bubble pad and doing a diy modification of a sheet, wrap, spe for that.
i have slept warm with blue pads, thermarest, so 34$ spent instead of 200$+, works for me.
