My first attempt working with leather, didn't turn out too bad. I'm very satisfied with the hatchet sheath but the saw sheath I made too narrow and couldn't get the blade in all the way. It does cover the teeth though so I called it good enough for a camping trip.

They look nice Wingnut. What you've learned this time around won't be forgotten next time.
I would like to find rivets that hold fast, and look good on both sides. Most that look good on both sides aren't very strong rivets so I resort to using the old copper rivets and burrs which are very strong, and last forever.

Nice job! I really like the woven/braided straps on them.

Thanks for the compliments. I used double headed cap rivets so they would look good on both sides, sort-of. I didn't use the convex shaped anvil to set them so you can see some deformity on the one side. Not too bad though for what it is. I didn't know about the strength Issue using the cap rivets. I did use two coats of contact cement before riveting though.
Those weaved straps caught my eye when I saw them also. I typed in weaving leather on you tube and saw a demonstration on what they called the Mystery weave. Easy to do and looks good.
