Thanks for the report! Sounds like you had a good time despite the heat. Love the ingenuity with the spatula and flipper. Everyone forgets something from time to time, it doesn’t mean you’re losing your edge. I’ll be on Stuart in 10 days, I see it’s one of your favorite lakes. Got any fishing tips to share? I’ve had success at the falls, but that’s about it. Too bad about Oyster, I’ve never had fishing luck on that lake either, although, you know the fish are there because I’ve seen pics and read trip reports where people have slaughtered them.
Thanks again,
Tony

Thanks for the report.
We were coming out of Adams one year and stopped on Polly . It was so hot and zero air movement. We found a site and decided to just hang low for the rest of the day. About 2 hours later we heard this moaning and groaning coming around the corner. It was a guy, going solo, in an old aluminum canoe. After each paddle stroke he would moan, then dip is shirt in the lake and put it over his head and then groan. He repeated the process across the entire lake. We talked about how hot it must of been with the sun reflecting off the lake and the bottom of the canoe.

Holy smokes. It wasn't that bad! Thanks for adding that little gem. I once was on Lake 3 with friends when a man paddled up solo, and lost. He kept asking us where we were....and tried to tell us where he had been. He was sunburned from face down to his bare feet. We tried to talk him into staying with us to rest but he paddled off. Thanks for reading!

Nice trip report! I've always wanted to do this EP with so much great fishing available. I will have to try it at some point but have always been deterred by the number of people. I would probably try to go for a week and get further in to Boulder river, Iron, and LLC.
What did you catch the crappies on? just jigs or slip bobbers? I've been up to the BW 17 times but have yet to catch a crappie. I think I have probably caught every other fish you can catch up there.

Thanks for your comment. We caught the crappies on jigs and leeches while chasing walleye. Sometimes when we are there we go down in jig size if we get into them but usually they just find our leeches while after the other fish.
We love love love the "slo poke" jig that we buy at Fleet Farm. I've seen them outproduce other jigs side by side. Try them!
