Has anyone else gotten handed a vivid test kit at the border? My wife was picked to be randomly tested. What a hassle! They gave you a test kit and tell you to simply go online and follow the instructions.
Well, you have to first create an account with the testing company, including your passport number, ArriveCAN confirmation number, home address, CANADIAN ADDRESS, then register the test, make an appointment for an online tech to walk you through the test, then mail in the test. All on a phone with an iffy McDonalds Wi-Fi connection.
Geez, I have no problem with them testing people, but what would you do if they handed you a test and you were headed for the Quetico?
That would have sucked! Especially when you need to do it most likely just after crossing the border to have decent cell coverage. Take time to do it and all the other things like talking to the tech and then finding a place to mail it in!
Did you see this thread? Travelers to Canada may not have to worry about this after September 30.
"Keep close to Nature's heart, yourself; and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean." ~ John Muir
