I have just taken a lot of my old canoeing pictures that were on slides and had them put on a CD and I can now put them on the Net.
Here are some from the 1991 Quetico Trip we took
For the complete story with pictures go 1991 Quetico Trip & Pictures
I also have a trip we took in 1975 in the BWCA before fire grates and potties

For the complete story with pictures go to
1975 BWCA Trip & Pictures
I also have a group of older photos dating back to the 60's like this

For the full group of photos go to Photos from 1963 - 1968

how heavy were the canoes back then?

That was before the "Light Weight" versions 65Lbs plus.....my guess is they were in the 70Lbs. range. They were good for stamina building of young football players....like me!:)
