Can a Honda Civic make the trek on this road? Thanks in advance for any/all advice.

Yes, Just do the last narrow portion slowly.

I would have said to not try it, but I haven't been there in a several years. Perhaps the road has been upgraded. When were you last there?

I took my family in there in a Toyota Matrix one year with an 18' canoe on top. Not advisable but we made it! Last part is a two-tire rut between thick hedges until you get to the the parking area.

Went there this past August with a very loaded Hyundai Tucson with 2 canoes on the roof, 5 people, and lots of packs. No problem.

You'll be fine. The last four miles is the part that everyone's concerned about, but it's been improved and ok. (You should have seen the oil pan removers that were on that road 30 years ago!)

Thanks, folks. Still not sure if I am driving, but if I do, my only option is my little Honda.

Jackfish, I have a quote in my profile, but it doesn't show up when I do an entry. How do I fix this?

I think you'll be fine unless it's rained a whole lot just before you enter. That could stretch it a bit.

Ron, I fixed it. You had your quote in the "Personal Quote" spot, but it needed to be in the "Messageboard Signature" spot. Should be good now. Let me know if it's not.

Thanks, Jackfish. And Frenchy, you will find this a great entry spot, but beware if it is a high wind day, as Beaverhouse and Quetico are "big water". Last year it was smooth paddling for my crew including granddaughters. Five years ago we hit the first wide area of Quetico Lake and barely made it to the sandy narrow portage to the south, where we were wind bound two nights. Reminded me of Bayley Bay at its worst.

Yes, I will never forget my first entry onto Quetico with Ron! And "I did return!"

Yes, David, The next year was you, Oldfingers, my son and me in at Nym, deeply south all the way to Splitrock Falls, and back out. That was the year we were part of the Holy Grail of the Quetico Quest, which is still going on. A great crew and a great trip. Have 5 so far planning and committed for this summer.
