04/08/2024 06:33PM Another thought - The Bluefin in Tofte has awesome big-ass burgers and other high end food, if you have thoughts about going towards Duluth on Hwy 61. Eaten there a bunch of times. Not that far from the Solbaken in Lutsen if you can snag a room there. Bluefin is not cheap, but if you get a booth, you will be staring at the Lake Superior waves coming ashore. The Bluefin is literally across Hwy 61 from the Americinn in Tofte, which unfortunately has a 2-night minimum these days. Tom |

04/08/2024 01:47PM Not sure if it's good because it's truly good... or, after a week in the wilderness, my taste buds just truly desire pizza and it doesn't matter, but I've always enjoyed the pizza at Sven & Ole's. The Uff Da pizza being my fav. By the way, I also love the Trail Center. We ate breakfast there on our way out a couple years ago. Good stuff, Maynard! My buddy had pancakes that would cover a hub cap. |

04/08/2024 01:27PM 1. The Angry Trout Way down on the list (without disparaging any of those mentioned, several of which I enjoy and recommend): Everything else. |

04/08/2024 06:13AM The Angry Trout has excellent fish for sure and my spouse thinks its some of the best anywhere. I am not a big fish fan but their maple chicken and burgers are to die for. |

If you are coming to Grand Marais from the Gunflint Trail, Trail Center is also very good, but check their hours, as since the virus, they are not open a couple of days each week. My first time there I thought it was just going to be some basic below average bar food, but boy was I wrong. Excellent food! It's a must stop for me now! |

04/07/2024 05:33PM On the Gunflint: Poplar Haus, hands down. Beware Trail Center's all-you-can-eat fish... the ride to GM can seem an eternity In Grand Marais: Bring something from Fisherman's Daughter over to Voyageur Brewing |

04/07/2024 10:03AM 1. Poplar Haus mid-trail. They grind their own hamburger with chuck and bacon. For my wife and I, this is a clear #1. 2. Trail Center. Solid food. The four-cheese grilled cheese and a chocolate malt is the way to go. Super-fun decor and atmosphere. 3. My Sister's Place : under-rated thin crust pizza goodness 4. Angry Trout for catch-of-the-day sandwich or salad. Most beautiful food I've seen. Tastes great as well. It is expensive to eat in Cook County. Just sayin'. |

This is exactly what I was going to say. I will add that Trail Center is my favorite restaurant anywhere, not just up north. |
