03/08/2023 11:18AMTuscarora Outfitters: "It's March! The snow is deep and it's not going anywhere any time soon. I love your site. How much snow on the lakes? Slush? Years past I have seen snow waist deep when winter camping. |

03/07/2023 07:41PM It's March! The snow is deep and it's not going anywhere any time soon. Long term forecast looks great for a late season winter trip! Dinky Lake Trout Andy |

02/28/2023 07:47PM Thanks for the update Andy! Thinking about hitting mid trail in 3 weeks. I'm hoping for a little thaw to make lake travel favorable. *fingers crossed* |

02/28/2023 12:38PM Lol, we're still alive. I've been posting regular updates on Instagram 4 to 8 inches of snow fell on the Gunflint Trail yesterday, more towards the end. There's about 20 to 30 inches of snow in the woods, depending on where you are and the lakes are going to be pretty heavily drifted after the wind today. Slush hasn't been too bad, but I expect some to pop up after this snowfall. Lake ice has been running around 18 to 22 inches on average. The long term forecast doesn't have any meaningful thaw in it yet, so at this point it's looking like we're going to hold onto a lot of this snow through at least the first 1/2 of March. If we don't get a big thaw by April I think hopes of an early ice out are pretty much gone. Andy |

02/28/2023 10:36AM WONDER IF THERES ANY CHANGES? |

01/12/2023 10:02AM Conditions could not be better, there's very little slush and the lake travel is really good. Skiing is the way to go on lakes right now, but pack snowshoes if you're going to be breaking any trails, because the snow is deep! Trout season opens outside the wilderness area on Saturday and the weather is looking pretty good. A little brook trout fishing. Andy |

12/18/2022 01:07PM This weeks snowstorm dropped anywhere from 10 to 20 inches of snow on the Gunflint Trail, and it looks like there is more on the way. We haven't been out on many lakes, but we're seeing 4 to 12 inches of ice. Winter Update #4 Seagull Ice and Round Lake Snow Andy |

11/27/2022 01:40PM Thanksgiving week was pretty quiet, we warmed up and lost a little snow but it didn't impact the lakes that were already locked up. Looks like much colder weather is in the forecast. Minnow Trapping, Fishing, Gunflint Trail Update Andy |

11/23/2022 08:34AM Thank you Thank you Thank you! Sometimes it's easy to forget how beautiful the new snow is....so pure and silent. Either your boots were squeeking or the birdies are chirping in the background. They, too, enjoy the fresh snow. The part of the second video when you are at round lake access looking down the steps.... Just a gorgeous view. Postcard perfect. Thanks again! You and Ada have the best spot. |

11/16/2022 06:17PM Really hoping to do my first winter camp in the BWCA this year, and going in in your neighborhood once there's enough ice is really high up on my list. |

11/15/2022 11:19AM It's time to start thinking about ice fishing, skiiing, and winter camping! Mid-trail is currently getting buried, 17 inches of snow and counting. I would imagine some cross country ski trails may open up in the next week or so. Way less at the end of the Gunflint Trail. Not much ice so far, but that will change this week. It's winter! As always, feel free to reach out for the latest conditions on the Gunflint Trail. Andy |
